2. Arkansas

The 2011 Sugar Bowl is a sour memory for a lot of Ohio State football fans. It’s the one game that season that the Buckeyes didn’t vacate because of the Tattoogate scandal. It’s a game that Ohio State won but ended up costing them more in the long run.

It’s the only time that Ohio State has ever played Arkansas. It also ended up being the last game that Jim Tressel ever coached. Soon after this game, he was fired and Luke Fickell took over for the 2011 season because of that scandal. That scandal wouldn’t even be a big deal today with NIL, but whatever.

As far as the game is concerned, the Buckeyes took down the Razorbacks 31-26. Despite Ohio State not scoring at all in the fourth quarter, they were able to win the game thanks to an interception by Solomon Thomas, one of the Tattoo Five, to help seal the game.

This was also the first time that Ohio State beat an SEC team in a bowl game, having previously been 0-9 in such contests. Terelle Pryor was just 14/25 for 221 yards but threw 2 touchdowns. This would be the final game that he played in a Buckeye uniform as well.

I could see these two teams scheduling a matchup within the next couple of decades. Ohio State has shown a willingness to schedule other SEC teams. Arkansas wouldn’t be a bad one to get on the schedule sometime down the line.

The final SEC team that is winless against Ohio State is a relatively new addition to the conference.
