Three SEC teams that have never beaten Ohio State Football
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has won a lot of games over the years. They’ve also played a lot of teams. There are quite a few they haven’t played yet, but they’ve still played over 90 FBS programs in the country. The Buckeyes have quite a few wins against those teams.
There are some teams that have yet to beat the Buckeyes in a football game too. Some of that is due to the fact that there haven’t been a lot of matchups between the two programs. Another fact is that the Buckeyes are just flat-out better than that program.
Today, we are looking at three SEC teams that have never beaten the Ohio State football program. Ohio State has struggled against quite a few SEC teams historically, including losing their final game of last season against one. But there are three teams they’ve never lost to.
We start with the one that is closest to the Buckeyes geographically.
1. Kentucky
The Ohio State football team has never lost to the Kentucky Wildcats. In fact, they are 3-0 against them. Kentucky has never really come close to beating the Buckeyes except once. The biggest margin of victory for the Buckeyes was 49-0 back in 1919. They haven’t played them in a really long time though.
These two programs haven’t met on the field since 1935. So these two programs haven’t met since before WWII! The closest Kentucky has ever gotten to beating Ohio State was way back in 1895 when they lost to the Buckeyes 8-6. That’s also the only time Ohio State has played in Lexington.
Do I think that there will be any future matchups between these programs? I don’t think so. At least not in the near future. Unless Kentucky suddenly gets really good and starts making the College Football Playoff, they won’t schedule a future matchup.
The next team on the list is someone that the Buckeyes have only played once and it was a fairly recent matchup.
