Ohio State Basketball: Buckeyes in Katz’ Bracket Prediction
By Jacob Rhymer
We are slowly inching closer and closer to the start of the Ohio State basketball season. As we continue to learn more about this team throughout the offseason, one analyst has some pretty high hopes for the Buckeye basketball team this upcoming season.
College Basketball and Big Ten analyst, Andy Katz, came out with his first official bracket prediction, which includes the Ohio State basketball team. You might be shocked by his seeding for the Buckeyes as Katz predicts they will be a five-seed in next season’s NCAA Tournament.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the recognition the Buckeye basketball team is getting. However, I do think that being predicted as a five-seed right now is a bit of a reach as we have no idea what to expect from this revamped roster.
We all know that last season was nothing close to what we were expecting from the Ohio State basketball team. But, they had an excellent finish to their season by making a run in the Big Ten Tournament and beating some really talented teams. It showed a lot of promise and potential for the future with the players that returned.
To add to the players returning, Holtmann and staff are bringing in a really strong recruiting class that consists of some of the top freshmen in the country. Along with these freshmen, the Buckeyes have experienced transfers coming in as well.
The ceiling for the Buckeyes is through the roof at this point. As long as all the pieces work well together, the potential is there for this Ohio State basketball team to have a really successful 2023-2024 season.
The college basketball season is right around the corner and will be here before we know it. Hopefully, the Buckeyes can move on from last season, but build from how it finished.
