Ohio State basketball: Where could Brice Sensabaugh go?
By Ryan Stano
The NBA season is over now that the Denver Nuggets were crowned NBA Champions earlier this week. Now, it’s time for the NBA Draft. Former Ohio State basketball player Brice Sensabaugh is looking for a new home now that he decided to stay in the draft.
Because Sensabaugh declined to participate in a key workout, his stock has slid a bit. He was once thought to be a lottery pick in this year’s Draft. Now, it looks like he could be taken just outside of the lottery. Looking at the draft board, I think he could go anywhere from 16-19.
A lot of people have him mocked to the Lakers at 17. The Lakers are in need of some cheap scorers off the bench. That’s what Sensabaugh is going to be at the next level. He’s someone that can go in and play 20 minutes and try to score the ball. He doesn’t do much else.
Los Angeles could certainly use that. So could the Heat at 18. They just lost to the Nuggets because they couldn’t get enough firepower off the bench. Sensabaugh could give them that, along with a bigger body to help on defense even if that’s not his strong suit.
Personally, I think he would fit best on the Warriors. They pick at 19. In Golden State, he could come right in and not be expected to do too much. He could provide offense off the bench and not be expected to carry a heavy load while he works to improve his playmaking.
Wherever the former Ohio State basketball player ends up, he is determined to improve his skills and make winning plays. He needs to get better at passing and defense before he can think about becoming a starter though. That will come with hard work. The Draft is on Thursday.
