The NBA Draft Lottery was held last night. We now know where the top 28 teams will be drafting once the Draft rolls around. Former Ohio State basketball player Brice Sensabaugh will likely get taken by one of those teams right after the lottery.

What’s interesting is that Sensabuagh had an opportunity to further improve his draft stock by playing in five-on-five scrimmages at the Combine. He, along with 37 other players, declined to do so. I find that very interesting from a fringe-lottery selection.

I know that Sensabuagh got hurt at the end of the Ohio State basketball season, suffering a knee injury. I wouldn’t think that it’s still bothering him now, so declining to do this is very curious. You would think he would want to do anything to try to increase his stock.

Playing in these scrimmages could help him solidly get into that lottery range instead of going at the end of the first round. That could be a huge drop in compensation when it comes to draft time. He could have shown teams that he’s improved on defense and can make tough shots.

I guess he didn’t think that he could improve his stock any more than where it’s at. Maybe he has gotten information that a team is definitely taking him in the lottery. Maybe he thought he would get exposed more defensively if he took part in the scrimmages. I don’t know the answer.

We’ll find out in late June where Sensabaugh will end up going. He technically could return to the Buckeyes if he wanted to, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I bet he ends up keeping his name in the draft. There really isn’t room for him on the roster now anyway.

Next. Seth Towns to play 8th college season. dark

Hopefully, he gets drafted into a good situation!
