The Ohio State football team has been holding a camp for recruits this week. They do this every June and it’s one of the first camps in an offseason full of camps for high school kids. Kids from all over the country come to Columbus to show off their skills at the Woody.

Not only does this give the kids a chance to show off what they have, but it also gives the Ohio State football program a chance to look at them up close and personal. Several recruits were turning heads with their play yesterday and the Buckeyes actually offered a few on the spot.

One of the recruits that is high on the Buckeyes’ list is Chris Henry Jr. He is the son of the late Chris Henry, former Cincinnati Bengals receiver. He had some really nice plays.

Henry Jr. is in the class of 2026, so he’s pretty far down the road. Ohio State did make a couple of offers to cornerbacks who are a little closer to college though. They were really impressed with how they played at camp and gave them offers on the spot.

Mark Zackery, a four-star corner in the class of 2025, was one of them. He stands at 6 feet tall and 164 pounds and is from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Ohio State is actually his first major offer. They must’ve really liked what they saw out of him.

The other corner they offered is 2026 corner Elbert Hill out of Akron. After picking up this offer from the Buckeyes, he has offers from Ohio State, TTUN, Miami, and Pitt. He is someone that also has a lot of potential and is obviously still very young. We know they need to improve the cornerback room.

All of the prospects out there for this camp are either in the 2025 or 2026 class, so they won’t be in college for a while. Recruiting starts earlier and earlier these days!
