The Ohio State football team is trying to fix the secondary after three straight seasons of abysmal play. They were better during the first part of last season but crumbled at the end when they were needed the most. The best way to fix that is to recruit better players.

Jim Knowles and his defensive staff are getting to work on that as we speak. In the 2023 class, they signed five guys in the secondary and added two more in the transfer portal. They are trying to overhaul the back end because of how badly the secondary has failed.

The 2024 class is no different. The Buckeyes could land as many as three corners in this recruiting cycle alone. There are three guys that have been predicted to land in Columbus and all three players are at least a four-star recruit. That’s how you changed a secondary.

The highest-rated of the three guys according to 247Sports is Aaron Scott out of Springfield. He is rated as the sixth-best corner in the country and the second-best player in the state of Ohio. While he hasn’t quite committed yet, that seems like a foregone conclusion at this point.

Another corner the Ohio State football team will likely land is Bryce West out of Cleveland Glenville High School. He’s another four-star kid that is expected to sign with the Buckeyes once the winter rolls around. He is listed as the fourth-best corner in the country and the best in the state of Ohio by the composite.

The last recruit at corner the Buckeyes are expected to land is Miles Lockhart out of Chandler, Arizona. He is the lowest-rated of the three but is still listed as a four-star recruit. He is also expected to sign with Ohio State later this year.

All of these guys have great skills and potential. If the Buckeyes can land them, it would be a great sign for the future of the secondary.
