Ohio State Football: Five most memorable plays from the 2010s

4. Zach Boren gives Ohio State fans an iconic photo
The 2012 Ohio State football time should go down as one of the best teams the Buckeyes have ever had. They get lost because of the fact that they didn’t play in a bowl game because of Gene Smith’s stupidity. They went undefeated in Urban Meyer’s first season and would have played for a national title against Notre Dame.
Instead, the last game they played was The Game. Zach Boren, who had moved from fullback to linebacker during the course of the year, gave the Buckeyes a moment no one will ever forget. He went right up the middle and sacked Devin Gardner with 6 minutes left in the second quarter.
After that hit, he gave us the iconic photo above. It’s one of the most memorable photos in Ohio State football history. This hit also reasserted the dominance that the Buckeyes would show over TTUN for the next decade as they went undefeated against them under Meyer.
The Buckeyes would go on to win this game 26-21 to cap off a 12-0 season. It’s a shame that we never got to see them compete for a national title. Even though they weren’t the most talented team Meyer ever coached, they were one of the toughest.
The next play on this list is one of the greatest trick plays that the Buckeyes have ever run.
