RB: J.K. Dobbins

Running back was the other tough call. It was between J.K. Dobbins and Ezekiel Elliott. Zeke had a really good end to 2014 and was great again in 2015, but Dobbins was unreal from the moment he stepped on the field as a freshman. Because of a great three years, he gets the honor.

Dobbins was a threat as a running back but also as a receiver. He could catch wheel route passes and angle routes, as well as screen passes. Once he did, he was great after the catch. Dobbins has that rare combination of speed and power that makes him really hard to bring down.

Dobbins is also tough. In the last game of his college career, he suffered a sprained ankle against Clemson. He played through it and still was an effective runner despite clearly not being at full strength. If he hadn’t gotten hurt, or if the refs weren’t awful, the Buckeyes would have won that game.

In any case, the body of work gives Dobbins the nod. He ran for over 2000 yards his final season while Zeke had just over 1800. A big argument for Zeke is that he had 23 total touchdowns in that 2015 season to go along with 18 in 2014. Dobbins also had 23 in his final year but just 12 in his sophomore season.

I think it’s a coin flip between these two guys. Dobbins was my choice but you can’t go wrong with either guy in my opinion. Next on the list, we figure out which tight end to choose.
