Ohio State Football: Incoming WR gives himself interesting comps
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has two five-star receivers coming in next year in the 2024 recruiting class. Both receivers are products of Brian Hartline’s brilliant recruiting, which he has exhibited over the years. One of them has some interesting comps for himself.
Mylan Graham is one of the five-star receivers and he is from the state of Indiana. He is actually the best player in the state in the 2024 class. He is someone that is good enough to play right away when he comes in. If he’s anything like the comps he gave himself, he certainly will.
Graham says he is a mix of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, and Chris Olave. In other words, the last three first-round receivers that the Ohio State football team has produced. All three of those guys have different skill sets too, so it’s interesting that he mentions that.
Olave was the best deep-ball catcher of those three, Smith-Njigba was the best route-runner, and Wilson was the most athletic. I guess Graham is trying to say that he has all three attributes. Looking at his film, it’s hard to dispute that he’s got some of those skills.
I’d hold off on saying that you’re a deadly mix of some of the best receivers Ohio State has ever had, especially before you’ve even stepped on campus. But I do love the confidence. That’s something you need to have if you’re going to earn playing time in the receiver room.
Graham and fellow five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith will be coming in next season to help the Buckeyes be a dangerous offense once again. With Ohio State losing their top-four receivers after this season, both have a chance to get some serious playing time once they come in.
I do think Graham is going to be really good and I can’t wait to see him in a Buckeye uniform.
