Right before the NFL Draft, we hear about players who could be rising up draft boards and some who could be falling draft boards. Earlier today, we told you which Ohio State football player could be climbing up boards. Now, we talk about someone who could be sliding a bit.

That player is Zach Harrison. Harrison came into the Ohio State football program as a five-star defensive end out of Olentangy Orange High School. Being a local, five-star kid, he had a lot of expectations on him. He was expected to be the next Chase Young.

The problem is, there is no next Chase Young. Young is an absolute freak of nature. While Harrison is athletic, he was never able to put up the same type of numbers as Young. Harrison finished with just 11 sacks in his four years with the Buckeyes. He was never the dominant force he was supposed to be.

While his tape isn’t that impressive, most people thought his athleticism would show up during the Combine and Pro Day to give scouts something to salivate over. The problem is that he didn’t do anything at the Combine and did limited stuff at the Pro Day. He didn’t even show off how athletic he is.

Because of that, I think Harrison could slide. After the season, I thought he could be a third-round pick. Now, I could see him sliding into the late fifth round. His tape just doesn’t pop enough to make another team want to take him with a super-early pick.

Just because he might be a lower pick doesn’t mean he won’t succeed at the next level. He still has a lot of talent and athleticism. If he could ever put it all together, he could be a really good player and a flat-out steal late in the Draft.
