Three Ohio State Football players to attend NFL Draft
By Ryan Stano
The NFL Draft is just a couple of weeks away. Soon, hundreds of dreams will be realized as players will move on to the professional level. Several Ohio State football players are among those who will have new teams to call home at the end of this month.
Three Buckeyes have decided to attend the NFL Draft in person. C.J. Stroud is one of them. He is in the mix to be the number one overall pick in the Draft. It’s widely accepted that he has no chance of falling out of the top five if he somehow doesn’t go in the first two picks.
Paris Johnson Jr. will also be in attendance. He is projected to be one of the first two tackles off the board. I’ve seen him everywhere from being in the top 10 to being selected around 20th in mock drafts. Regardless, he’s a sure-fire first-round pick.
The third Ohio State football player who will be attending is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN hardly played this past season after a spectacular year in 2021. His draft position is tough to figure out. Talent-wise, he’s easily a first-round pick. But the fact that he chose to sit out instead of coming back for the CFP could hurt his stock.
No matter where these Buckeyes are selected, they will all get drafted by organizations that believe in their talents. I have little doubt that Stroud and Johnson Jr. will succeed at the next level. I think if JSN stays healthy that he can as well.
The NFL Draft will be held April 27-29 and will be broadcasted on both ESPN and ABC. We will be following the entire draft and will let you know where Buckeyes will be taken and who they will start their NFL careers with.
