The Ohio State football program put on another successful Pro Day yesterday at the Woody. Plenty of players were there to showcase their talents up close and personal with over 100 scouts, GMs, and coaches in attendance. It was a sight to behold.

A lot of those in attendance were there to watch C.J. Stroud. He is one of the top quarterbacks in the draft and is in the mix to be the number one overall pick. There were plenty of representatives from the Carolina Panthers there, including head coach Frank Reich and owner David Tepper.

What they saw was one of the better Pro Day performances in recent years. Stroud looked confident in his throws and showed off this arm strength and accuracy. He also showed his ability to shift and move in the pocket, something he also showed off against Georgia.

Did this performance solidify his status as the number-one overall pick in the Draft? It’s widely accepted that the battle for number one is between Stroud and Bryce Young. Stroud already wins when it comes to his size and being a better pure passer.

Stroud then went ahead and reaffirmed that with his performance on Wednesday. Young has a chance to rebuttal on Thursday. Unlike Stroud, Young didn’t throw at the Combine in February. He was there strictly for interviews and to get his measurements taken.

This will be the first time scouts can get close to him while he throws. I expect him to do well. What I also expect is for Reich to want to take Stroud because his build fits more of what he is used to working with. I do expect Stroud to be the first overall pick.

Next. Losing in-state recruits to TTUN is troubling. dark

These Pro Days are extremely important for these prospects. I hope the former Ohio State football player wins over the former Alabama football player.
