How Ohio State Football keeps getting five-star receivers
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program did it again. They landed yet another five-star receiver. Last night, the Buckeyes got a commitment from Mylan Graham from New Haven, Indiana. Graham is listed as the best player in the state of Indiana and the fifth-best receiver overall.
Graham is a really complete player. He can catch the deep ball, get yards after the catch, and run great routes. He’s yet another stud that Brian Hartline has been able to bring into Columbus. He’s the second five-star receiver for the 2024 class that the Buckeyes have.
So how does the Ohio State football program keep getting these studs at receiver? Garrett Wilson, Julian Fleming, Jeremiah Smith, and Mylan Graham are just some of the five-star receivers the Buckeyes have gotten in recent years. That’s not even mentioning the best receiver in the country, Marvin Harrison Jr., who came in as a four-star kid.
The reason why Ohio State is able to consistently get these kids is because of Hartline himself. He develops these kids and makes them even better than they already are. He enhances their skills and shows them things that they will need to do in order to succeed at the NFL level.
Hartline’s ability to get receivers into the NFL and have them succeed there is the biggest selling point he has. How well Terry McLaurin, Chris Olave, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba do at the next level is what separates Ohio State from other programs across the country.
Graham joins Smith as the other five-star receiver in this 2024 class. The Buckeyes now have a top-five class in the country and have 10 commits in their class so far. It was a big week for Ryan Day and his staff on the recruiting front. Still, just one of his ten commits is on defense. That side of the ball needs work.
