The 2023 recruiting class for the Ohio State basketball team is mostly signed. They have four guys committed for the class that has already signed their Letters of Intent, Those four kids will be in addition to the freshmen that are already on the squad this season.

Even though the four-person 2023 class is a full class, the Buckeyes still could sign one more prospect. That player is Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. Bronny has the Buckeyes in his final three, along with Oregon and USC. He is a four-star recruit currently.

Despite being listed as a four-star recruit, James was just listed as a top-10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft in recent mock drafts. Part of that is because the 2024 NBA Draft class is the weakest it’s been in two decades, but part of that is Bronny improving.

The Ohio State basketball team has just 12 wins this season and won’t be going to the NCAA Tournament. They’ve won just three Big Ten games this year. Will they still have a shot at landing Bronny? Or did their terrible season just throw that possibility out the window?

No one knows for certain. Bronny’s camp is keeping this decision extremely close to the vest, even though he has to make a decision soon. I think his dad really wants him to go to Ohio State, but it will be Bronny’s decision. What Chris Holtmann’s team did this year really hurts their chances.

I ultimately think he will choose to go to USC. LeBron just re-upped with the Lakers last offseason and Bryce James is still playing in high school in LA. I think the family wants to stay in the same place so they can all watch each other’s games more often.

dark. Next. C.J. Stroud to throw at the NFL Combine

I could end up being wrong though. Bringing Bronny James in would certainly bring a lot of attention to the Buckeyes.
