The time is nearly here. The Ohio State football team will take on Georgia in the Peach Bowl for a chance to play for a national championship tomorrow. We’ve waited five long weeks to see this Buckeye team back in action, and now they are so close to being so.

We’ve broken down the game a lot within those five weeks. We know what the strengths of the Buckeyes are; throwing it over the middle, getting the wide receivers involved, and scoring quickly. Those are the things they will have to execute perfectly in order to pull the upset on Georgia.

Georgia is the best team in the country in my eyes. That doesn’t mean that the Buckeyes can’t beat them, but it will take an almost perfect game in order to do so. Ryan Day has had a long time to review the film and get his guys ready. Now’s the time to show the fruit of his work.

Official prediction: Ohio State football team 34 Georgia 38

As much as my fan brain says Ohio State can win this game, my objective college football brain says otherwise. Georgia is just too good on both sides of the ball. The Ohio State corners have had problems all year long and I don’t see that suddenly changing in this game.

I think the Buckeyes will struggle running the ball and yet stubbornly try to stay with it. I don’t see Day making second-half adjustments and that ends up costing the team a victory. As much as I hate to say it, I think this is the end of the line for the Buckeyes.

With all of that being said, I will not be surprised if Ohio State wins this game. My fan brain says they absolutely can because of the underdog factor. They have absolutely nothing to lose and should play with reckless abandon and will be the freer team out there.

I’ll be rooting for a Buckeyes victory just like you will!
