The Ohio State football team is set to play Georgia in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve night. The Buckeyes can absolutely win the game.

The Ohio State football team is less than 48 hours away from taking on Georgia in the Peach Bowl. Five weeks of preparation and practice have led to Saturday night. Ryan Day and C.J. Stroud have heard nothing but negative criticism the entire time. To say that they are motivated for this game has to be a gross understatement.

But for all the underdog motivational talk that has transpired through the last few weeks, the question must be asked whether or not this Ohio State football team is good enough to beat the undefeated reigning national champs.

The answer is a resounding yes. Ohio State has athletes that match Georgia. The Buckeye defense is way more prepared to play with the Bulldogs than they were a year ago. C.J. Stroud is the best quarterback that Georgia has seen all season long. Ryan Day will be the best offensive game planner that Georgia has had to go against.

The tools are all there for the Buckeyes to win, as long as they stay disciplined. Ohio State cannot afford to be heavily penalized. They cannot have miscommunication in the secondary. And most importantly they cannot give up explosive plays to Georgia that lead to touchdowns. If Ohio State plays to the best of its ability, then winning this game will be well within reach.

There is reason to believe that they can play their best football Saturday night. Look back to the last time Ohio State was in a CFP semi-final. Ohio State crushed a very tough Clemson team. A year earlier in the same game against the same team, they lost but played very well and were a few awful officiating calls away from defeating Clemson.

Ryan Day and this coaching staff have been here before. It’s going to be a daunting task to defeat Georgia in Atlanta but if any team is qualified to do it, it’s Ohio State.
