The Ohio State football team is set to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve. The Buckeyes have one major advantage.

The Ohio State football team is set to embark on its most difficult challenge of the season as they take on the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl. The Buckeyes come in as the underdog which is something they are not used to. But with that in mind, Ohio State has one major advantage heading into this matchup.

Cleveland.com’s Doug Lesmerises points out that Ohio State is set to play in a dome for the first time in the C.J. Stroud era of quarterback play. It’s something I haven’t thought about before and now I can’t stop thinking about what Stroud can do in an enclosed environment.

The Buckeyes are built with speed in mind and with the idea of playing SEC teams in championship level games. Ohio State absolutely matches up with Georgia speed wise and it will be interesting to see if this game turns into a fast-track shootout.

This will also be star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.’s first time playing indoors as well and he seems rather excited about it, from cleveland.com:

"“Very happy to play in a dome. That kind of takes that cold element away, which can kind of help us a little bit.”"

The last time Ohio State played indoors was the 2020 Sugar Bowl in which Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields completely lit-up a top ranked defense in Clemson. He threw for 385 yards and six touchdown passes enroute to a 49-point effort on Ohio State’s part.

Can C.J. Stroud duplicate those numbers and give the Scarlet and Gray a chance at beating No.1 Georgia? That remains to be seen but the fact that Ohio State is playing this game in a controlled environment gives them zero excuses. The either are one of the top offenses in the nation or they are a product of Ryan Day’s system.
