Prediction 2: This game will be won or lost by C.J. Stroud

This is what quarterback C.J. Stroud came to Columbus for. A chance at playing against the best competition in the world and for a chance at a national title. After being the quarterback to lose two consecutive games to archrival Michigan, Stroud has a chance to redefine his Ohio State legacy in this game.

The Peach Bowl gives Stroud the platform to do what former Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields was able to do in the 2020 Sugar Bowl. After losing to Clemson in 2019, Fields was able to get the best against Trevor Lawrence and Clemson in 2020. And Fields played great in that game. It’s now time for Stroud to have a great game against top competition.

He’s going to have a chance to do it as this Georgia secondary, while talented, has given up its fair share of big plays this season. Especially over the middle of the field, Stroud and his receivers can have huge games.

If Miyan Williams can provide the Buckeyes with just enough of a running game to keep Georgia honest, Stroud can take advantage of the Bulldog secondary. He’s going to have to be smart in pre-snap decisions and in being able to sidestep and avoid defensive tackle Jalen Carter’s penetration.  Stroud has all the ability, and he has the receivers to do it. Now it’s time to prove he can.

This game will either be won by Stroud being able to make enough big plays in the passing game or it will be lost by his inability to do so.

I think Stroud shows up. I’m predicting 375 yards passing and four touchdowns as he secures his top 10 NFL draft pick status.
