As the Ohio State football team prepares to take on Georgia in the Peach Bowl, the Buckeyes have finally added a player from the transfer portal.

There is no rest for Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team. This has been an extremely busy month for the Buckeyes considering that the 2023 recruiting cycle comes to a close next week and that they are preparing for a loaded Georgia team to play in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

However, yesterday the Buckeyes received some welcomed news as it was announced that transfer portal long snapper John Ferlmann will continue his playing career at Ohio State. It’s just one thing to check off the list for Ryan Day, but an important one non the less as Ohio State long snapper Bradley Robinson is out on eligibility.

Ferlmann started at Arizona State last season and played in all 12 of the Sun Devils’ games. He was a redshirt freshman last season so he should have at least three more seasons of eligibility left for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State still needs to add more players from the portal to help fill some gaps in recruiting over the past few years. Most notably along the offensive line where only Josh Fryar has any real experience at tackle for Ohio State. The Buckeyes did offer two tackles over the past few days in Rhode Island’s Ajani Cornelius and UTEP’s Jeremiah Byers.

Hopefully, Ohio State can land at least one of those two tackles to add some competition to the two open offensive tackle jobs for next season. Ohio State could also use some help at corner where the Buckeyes are expected to make a run at Virginia’s Fentrell Cypress.

Next. This Buckeye could be Peach Bowl unsung hero. dark

This appears to be just the beginning of what could be a very busy transfer portal season for Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team.
