The past few weeks have been unlike any other time in Ohio State football history. The Buckeye went from being on top of the world to feeling like their season was over to being on top of the world again. That all happened in the span of about six days.

There’s nothing Ohio State can do about the loss to Michigan right now. The best they could hope for is a rematch in the National Championship Game. In order to get that rematch, the Buckeyes have to beat Georgia. Everyone has been talking about how good Georgia is, and rightfully so.

Georgia is the most complete team in college football. They don’t really have a huge weakness, although the secondary can be vulnerable at times. Yet, no one has been talking about the fact that the Bulldogs should be scared of Ohio State too.

Ohio wasn’t 11-0 heading into The Game for no reason. They are still a really good football team. Their offense is as explosive as anyone in the country. While the defense isn’t perfect, it’s still much improved from where it was a year ago. The Buckeyes are still a dangerous team if taken lightly.

The further we get away from that debacle in the Shoe in late November, the further that pain fades away. That pain will give way to motivation and should help this Ohio State football team play the freest football they have played all season long.

That freedom makes Ohio State even more dangerous. They have nothing to lose. Getting into the CFP after not even making the Big Ten Championship and losing their last game is giving them house money. Ryan Day has the license to try anything he wants in this game.

Ohio State is still a very good football team. They have a chance to show the country that they can be great on New Year’s Eve.
