The Ohio State Football team is taking on Georgia in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Georgia has been the best team in college football all year long. They are undefeated, have a Heisman Trophy Finalist at quarterback, and have the number one overall draft prospect on defense.

Beating this Georgia team is going to be tough for the Buckeyes. To do so, they are going to have to play their best game of the year. Ohio State actually matches up better with the Bulldogs than either of the other semi-finalists. That’s because of how good the offense is.

So what is going to be the key to beating the undefeated national champions? Great offense. Ohio State has had one of the most explosive offenses in college football this season. The key to that explosion is going to be the key to victory for the Buckeyes.

The wide receivers are the key to the Ohio State football team beating Georgia.

Ryan Day’s best chance to beat Kirby Smart and his team is to utilize the wide receivers often. Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be the most important player on the field. Georgia has had some issues defending the pass in recent games. We saw them give up big pass plays to LSU in the SEC Championship game.

Georgia’s secondary is about their only weakness. Ohio State needs to throw the ball over the middle early and often in this game. I know Day wants to have a balanced offense, but they can’t force it. I think the passing game is going to be the main way to move the ball and score the most points.

Having Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka involved in the game early is going to be the key. Egbuka is going to be more open than Harrison Jr. will be because Georgia will bracket coverage toward Harrison. Egbuka has to make plays and run great routes to give this Buckeye team a chance.

If the Ohio State football team is able to get the receivers involved in big plays down the field, they actually have a good shot to beat Georgia. I’m just worried that Day will start to turtle in his play calling like he did against Michigan. If that happens, the Buckeyes will get blown out in the second half for the second consecutive game.
