The Ohio State football team is hitting the recruiting trail hard this week. Ryan Day and Corey Dennis are trying to flip a four-star recruit.

The Ohio State football team received welcomed news as both USC and TCU lost over the weekend, opening the door for the Buckeyes to slide into the playoffs. But with the recruiting dead period having ended last Friday, Buckeye coaches are hitting the recruiting trail.

One of the first points of emphasis over the weekend was quarterback coach Corey Dennis heading up to South Dakota to check in on 2023 four-star quarterback Lincoln Kienholz. Keinholz is currently committed to Washington at the moment, but the Buckeyes have put the full-court press on to try and flip him before the early signing period in a few weeks.

Keinholz had an official visit to Columbus for the Michigan game as he appears interested at least in the possibility of joining Ohio State. Keinholz is an important recruit for the Buckeyes due to the fact that 2023 verbal commit quarterback Brock Glenn of Tennessee flipped his commitment to Florida State in November. This has left Ohio State scrambling for a 2023 quarterback at the last minute.

The Buckeyes have been interested in Keinholz for a while, however. Corey Dennis has personally attended a few of his games this season, so it isn’t shocking that the Buckeyes are in on him late in the recruiting process.

Keinholz had a monster season for his Pierre High School football team, helping lead them to a South Dakota state championship. He threw for over 3,200 yards and 46 touchdown passes. He also ran for an astonishing 1,435 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. Having a quarterback with that kind of running ability has to be intriguing for Ohio State coaches.

We’ll see if Ryan Day and Corey Dennis can flip Keinholz before the December 21st early signing day.
