Ohio State Football vs. Michigan: Official prediction
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is finally about to take on TTUN. We are less than 24 hours away from the first matchup between the two rivals since 2006. In that epic matchup, the Buckeyes were ranked first and TTUN was second. Ohio State won and then went on to play for a national title.
Ohio State is the team that is ranked second in this matchup, while TTUN is third. Not only are bragging rights at stake, but the winner of this game will play for a Big Ten Championship and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. There is a lot to play for.
The Buckeyes are coming into the game banged up at running back. Miyan Williams didn’t play last week and TreVeyon Henderson left the Maryland game in a walking boot. It’s unclear if either of them is healthy enough to play, but it sounds like they both might be.
TTUN is even more banged up at that spot. Blake Corum left last week with a knee injury and Donovan Edwards didn’t play at all. If Corum can’t play, that’s a big blow for a team that focuses its offense on running the ball. Corum is the best running back on their roster as well.
Official prediction: Ohio State football 38 Michigan 24
It looks like the weather will be okay for the game after all. If that’s the case, I think that the Buckeyes will be able to throw the ball extremely well. Even if Ohio State does not achieve balance on the offensive side of the ball, the passing game should be more than good enough to score points.
The defense will do a better job than people think of stopping the running game from Michigan. I don’t think that they can throw the ball even a little bit. Because of that, I think that Ohio State pulls away in the second half.
Hopefully, this happens and we are all celebrating a victory tomorrow afternoon. It’s time for the Buckeyes to be back on top in this rivalry.
