It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t pretty. But in the end, the Ohio State football team did what they needed to do. They were able to beat Maryland in a game that was a lot closer than it should have been. The Buckeyes go into TTUN week by beating the Terrapins 43-30.

Ohio State struggled in the first half, only scoring 10 points. They were actually losing 13-10 at the half. The Buckeyes made some second-half adjustments and started giving the ball to Dallan Hayden. That turned out to be the right decision because he was a monster.

Hayden scored three touchdowns in the second half and ended up with 146 yards on 27 carries. He was the difference in the second half. Ryan Day made the decision to pull TreVeyon Henderson and let him heal up for next week, even though he wasn’t running that well anyway.

The defense came up in the clutch late as well. Zach Harrison was the guy who sealed the game at the end. He had two straight sacks, including a sack that resulted in an Ohio State touchdown by Steele Chambers that sealed it. It was the best two-play sequence of his Ohio State football career. Lathan Ransom had another stellar game, blocking a punt for the second-straight game.

C.J. Stroud was 18/30 for 241 yards and one touchdown, so it wasn’t his best game. But he did enough to get the win. In a week where all of the top four teams in the country struggled, that’s all he needed to do. He kept the team undefeated heading into the final week.
