The Ohio State football team is in need of one more big recruit to close out its recruiting cycle for 2023.

The Ohio State football team is only a month and a half away from the early signing period for the 2023 recruiting class. The Buckeyes have a strong class, led by five-star receiver Brandon Inniss and top-50 offensive linemen Luke Montgomery, a Findlay Ohio native.

With 21 hard commits, this Buckeye class currently sits at No. 5 in the country according to 247Sports behind Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and LSU. But the Buckeyes might have a few tricks still up their sleeve before this cycle is over.

Defensive line coach, Larry Johnson just finished off grabbing a four-star defensive tackle in Kayden McDonald earlier this week. However, he is currently in line for three five-star defensive end recruits that could push this into a top-three class in the country.

Keon Keeley, Matayo Uiagalelei, and Damon Wilson are all top 30 national recruits at defensive end with a chance to become Buckeyes. From 247Sports:

"Right now, it’s looking like Alabama has the edge in Keeley’s recruitment who is a top ten recruit from Tampa, Florida. But the Buckeyes are squarely in prime position with the other two. Uiagalelei’s recruitment will come down to Ohio State, Oregon and USC while Wilson has already been crystal balled to the Buckeyes from 247Sports."

If the Buckeyes could land two out of the three that would be a massive win for Larry Johnson and this defense. It would give Ohio State its next set of talented defensive ends for when it’s time for Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau to head off to the NFL.
