The Ohio State football team is trying to fill out their 2023 recruiting class. They have had several prospects visiting their games over the past few weeks. The Buckeyes are doing a great job of putting on the blitz with these prospects. Now, they have landed another stud.

Ohio State has landed four-star defensive tackle Kayden McDonald out of the state of Georgia. McDonald is a top-300 prospect in the country and is the 21st recruit to commit to the Buckeyes in the 2023 class. He is the third defensive lineman to commit to Ohio State in this cycle.

We know that there could be a few other defensive linemen that join McDonald in this cycle still yet. As for McDonald, the Buckeyes are getting someone who is 6’3 and 310 pounds who has a lot of strength inside. He’s someone who can push the pocket around.

Ohio State needs more defensive linemen like that. He is someone that also gets to the quarterback with his quickness as well. McDonald might be able to make an impact sooner rather than later. He might not play a lot as a freshman, but he can in a couple of years.

The Buckeyes are trying to get a class that will finish as high in the rankings as it can. Right now, it’s a top-three class. Do I think it can be the top class? No, but it can still be a very good class. That’s especially true if they get the three stud defensive ends as well.

We’ll see how the Buckeyes finish this class. They still have a few other guys making visits, including for The Game at the end of November. That will be a big recruiting event for this class and the 2024 class. McDonald will see if he can find some new classmates then.
