The Ohio State football team is taking on Northwestern this weekend. They are coming off a big win at Penn State. That win helped them seal the number two ranking in the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. They will look to stay there with a win this week.

Most people think that the Buckeyes are going to kill the Wildcats at noon on Saturday. I tend to agree but this is college football. Stanford beat USC when they were 42.5-point underdogs. Anything can still happen in this sport, so a win isn’t a win until the game is over.

In case this game does turn into a rout, there are some interesting bets that you can place to make things a little bit more interesting. While passing touchdowns were in short supply last weekend against the Nittany Lions, I think that will change this week.

Best Ohio State football bets Week 10

The spread keeps creeping up for this game. Right now, the spread is up to 38.5 according to FanDuel, which is two full points higher than what it started out as. Even though 38.5 is a lot of points for Ohio State to cover, I think that’s a reasonable number. Northwestern is truly awful.

The over/under is set at 57.5. This number has gone down a bit, perhaps in response to some early weather forecasts. No matter what the forecast is, Ohio State should be able to move the ball this week and score a lot of points. I think the over just barely hits.

As far as in-game props go, I like the first touchdown scorer as a bet on TreVeyon Henderson. He has +390 odds for that. If the weather is bad, running the ball is going to be key and Ryan Day is going to really want to fix the issues they had last week running the ball. Expect him to try and run it earlier than usual.

I also like a winning margin bet of Ohio State by 43 points or more. Northwestern might be the worst team in the Big Ten. Even in bad weather, the Buckeyes can score. We saw that last year against IU when it rained the entire game.

These are some bets that could make a snooze-fest game a little bit more interesting. Truthfully, all I care about is another win for this Ohio State football team.
