The Ohio State football program is coming off a huge win at Penn State. It’s the first time we’ve seen them tested at any point this season, besides a couple of tense moments against Notre Dame. The Buckeyes handled the test extremely well.

Now they go from being motivated to face a good Penn State team to playing a terrible Northwestern one. The Wildcats are only 1-7 and only have a win against hapless Nebraska to hang their hat on. This is a team that lost to Southern Illinois.

Is this game going to be a snooze-fest or a possible upset in the making? If you just look at the stats straight up, it’s going to be a snooze-fest. The Buckeyes are way better than this team on paper. They have more talent and better coaching too. But games aren’t played on paper.

The Ohio State football team can’t be complacent against Northwestern.

Despite the terrible record, the Wildcats have played some good teams tough. They lost to Penn State by only ten and only had a one-score loss to Maryland. This can be a feisty team with a good coach leading them in Pat Fitzgerald. He typically gets the best out of his players.

Unfortunately for them, this game is going to be a snooze-fest. Ohio State is too good and has too much at stake to lose to a team like Northwestern at this stage in the season. Even if the Buckeyes do come out slow in this game for some reason, they will easily pull away in the second half.

It’s good for Ohio State to have an opponent like this the week after an emotional victory over a rival. It gives them time to get healthier and get ready for the big showdown at the end of November.
