The Ohio State football team has its bye week this week so they won’t be playing. They get some much-needed rest to get healthy for the stretch run of the season. Since the Buckeyes won’t be playing, I have some recommendations for other games to watch that have implications for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Perhaps the biggest Big Ten game this season that doesn’t involve the Ohio State football team is happening this weekend. Penn State is taking on TTUN for the Big Noon Kickoff. It’s a matchup of two top-ten teams that Ohio State will both face later this year.

Whoever wins that game becomes Ohio State’s biggest threat to the Big Ten Championship. With the game being at Michigan, I suspect that’s who will come out on top. This will give us our first look at both teams playing against real competition, although both have struggled against some Big Ten opponents already.

The Ohio State football team will be watching these games closely as well.

Other than that Big Ten showdown, there are two games at 3:30 that have College Football Playoff implications. The first one is a game in the Big 12 against two undefeated schools. Oklahoma State takes on TCU. Whoever wins might be the Big 12’s last hope of making the Playoff.

Oklahoma State is ranked 8th while TCU is 13th. It should be an interesting game to watch because if the Big 12 has an undefeated team, the SEC likely can’t get two schools into the Playoff because one will have at least one loss.

Two undefeated SEC schools also play at 3:30 in a game that most people will be tuned into at that time slot. That game features Alabama at Tennesee, a game that most people didn’t think would feature two undefeated teams before the season started.

Ohio State football fans will certainly be rooting for the Vols in that one. No one up here likes Alabama. If Bama loses this game, it means that Bama has to win out, including in the SEC Championship, to have a chance to make the CFP.

The night game you should watch is at 8 pm and features USC at Utah. USC is the highest-ranked Pac-12 team at the moment. If they lose this game, they will be eliminated from CFP contention. That’s an intriguing game to watch as well.

This is the best slate of games we’ve had so far. It comes at a week when Ohio State fans can be stress-free and just enjoy the football around them. All of these games can be streamed live on Fubo TV.
