No. 2) Emeka Egbuka, WR

We all knew that Emeka Egbuka was going to get a shot this season. But with top wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Nijigba out most of the season with an injury, Egbuka has stepped up in a monster way.

Egbuka leads the Buckeyes in receptions (26), receiving yards (442), and is tied with the lead in receiving touchdowns (5) with Marvin Harrison Jr. And not only is he leading the team in all these statistical categories, but Egbuka also looks like the most dangerous Buckeye with the ball in his hands on the offensive side of the ball. His explosiveness leaves us wondering when he’s going to turn a 10-yard crossing route into a 60-yard touchdown.

Coming into the season, Egbuka was thought to be on an even time split of playing time with fellow five-star receiver Julian Fleming. Fleming has been injured as well and JSN’s injury has opened the door for Egbuka to shine.

I can’t wait to see what Egbuka and a healthy Smith-Nijigba can do on the playing field together at the same time. The Buckeyes might not have a healthy JSN until a couple of weeks from now though. He’s said he’s going to take things slow and make sure he’s healthy.

The final surprise player on this list is another offensive player that opens up a new dimension to an already super dangerous offense.
