Ohio State football: Predicting the schedule, amount of wins
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team gets revenge on Wisconsin and goes on to play for a national title.
Ohio State has owned Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Buckeyes have played them three times and have won by an average of 26 points. That includes the 59-0 shellacking the Buckeyes doled out on their way to winning the first-ever College Football Playoff.
I think there will be more of the same this time around. The Buckeyes avenge their only loss of the regular season and win the Big Ten Title. I also think that the Buckeyes are able to qualify for the CFP and are either a three or four-seed in the CFP.
Whoever they face in the semi-final is not going to want to face them. I think Stroud has a big game against whatever defense he sees and helps lift the Buckeyes to a victory. That would allow Ohio State to play for the national championship for the first time since 2020.
As I’m sure you remember, the Buckeyes lost that game to Alabama, mainly because of the defense. This year’s defense is going to be a lot better than that defense was. I think the Buckeyes either see Alabama again or someone new to the party like, say, Utah.
No matter who they face, I think this is the year the Buckeyes get it done. I think this team is better than last year’s team on both sides of the ball and now they have the coaches to help them get over the hump. This is the best team they’ve had since that legendary 2019 team.
The 2019 team remains the best Ohio State football team I’ve ever seen. This 2022 team could come darn close, especially with what they’re going to do on offense.
