The best thing about Ohio State Football isn’t the game
By Ryan Stano
Everyone loves going to Ohio State football games in the Fall. The Shoe gets filled up with 100,000+ people to cheer on the Buckeyes every Saturday. This year, Ohio State football fans get a special treat with the first five games of the season being at home.
Obviously, everyone is there to watch the team and wants to team itself to win the game. You play to win the game. But the game itself isn’t the best part of the Ohio State football experience. That comes with actually going to the game and enjoying the atmosphere.
In my opinion, the best part of the game is sitting in the stadium and being a part of something. Being one of 100K people that want the same thing to happen; for the Buckeyes to win. It’s rare that anyone can agree on anything in today’s world. But we still have sports.
Buckeye football is something that almost everyone in the state of Ohio can agree on. Most people grow up as Buckeye fans from birth and then pass their fandom down to their children. Then they take them to the Shoe and show them the great experience of going to the game.
I love the feeling of sitting in the stadium and feeling the buzz of the game. It’s one of my favorite feelings about football season in general. I love high-fiving strangers after the Buckeyes score a touchdown, make a big stop, or force a turnover. It’s so much fun.
That fun feeling will come back sooner than you think. In just over a month, the Buckeyes will kickoff against Notre Dame in one of the marquee matchups of the entire season. I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I will, and hopefully you get to spend at least one game enjoying the atmosphere of the Shoe.
