Ohio State Football adds four-star defensive back
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has been on fire when it comes to gaining commitments for the 2023 recruiting class over the past week or so. Last week, it was three wide receiver commitments in three days. Now, it’s on the defensive side of the ball.
Ohio State was able to land a commitment from four-star defensive back Kayin Lee. Lee, who is from Georgia, de-committed from Georgia in February. He then took a visit to Ohio State and clearly loved what the program had to offer and decided this was the place for him.
Lee stands at 5’11 and 185 pounds. While he isn’t the biggest cornerback, he is pretty physical with receivers on the line of scrimmage and towards the boundary. He’s a guy that can get a little handsy but still avoids getting called for penalties. That’s the perfect type of corner that Tim Walton wants.
Lee now becomes the 14th commitment for the Ohio State football program in the class of 2023. His commitment also makes the Buckeyes’ class the number one class in the country, jumping over Notre Dame in the process. They still have more coming too.
The Buckeyes are still hoping to get commitments from more defensive backs in the next few weeks. Lee has a chance to really help this team once he comes in. You can never have too many good defensive backs. That’s what Ohio State is trying to bulk up on now.
Ryan Day has to be pleased with how well his staff has recruited this summer. Ohio State has done a good job of making these prospects feel wanted on their visits. Current commitments are doing an excellent job of recruiting too.
It’s been a good summer so far and it will only get better!
