Ohio State Football lands Brandon Inniss, another five-star WR
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program was still celebrating landing Carnell Tate from yesterday. The five star-receiver was the first five-star that the Buckeyes had landed in the 2023 recruiting class thus far. It isn’t their last though, and Tate isn’t even the last five-star receiver they will land.
That’s because they did it again. Brandon Inniss, the second-best receiver in the country and a five-star recruit, committed to the Buckeyes just a day after Tate did the same. Ohio State lands five-star receivers in back-to-back days just as the summer is kicking off.
Brian Hartline is a man possessed right now. Inniss is the 6th(!!!!) five-star receiver to commit to the Buckeyes since 2019. That’s absolutely incredible. He is simply the best receivers coach in the country and very well could be the best assistant in the country when it comes to recruiting.
Inniss stands at 6’0 and 190 pounds, a similar build to Garrett Wilson who was just a first-round pick. Inniss is from Florida as well and is very similar to Wilson in the way he plays. He gets a ton of separation at the start of his route and uses his hands really well to catch the ball.
Inniss isn’t a body-catcher of the ball. He can track the deep ball well and can go over the middle and catch a slant. There’s simply no route he can’t run. He’s not the fastest receiver out there, but he can certainly get faster with some college-level training.
The Ohio State football program is just the standard for bringing in great receivers. They have a ton of them and keep getting richer. It’s unbelievable what Ryan Day and his staff are able to do in terms of recruiting on the offensive side of the ball.
Inniss should be a really good receiver for this program for the three years he’s here.
