Ohio State Football: TTUN fans freaking over losing legacy recruit
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team usually gets players who have siblings or parents who went to Ohio State to join their program. The Bosa brothers are the most famous example of this, both being five-star recruits and playing fantastically while they were with the Buckeyes.
Unfortunately for TTUN fans, they seem to have issues keeping high-profile legacy recruits within their program. C.J. Carr, who is the grandson of famous TTUN coach Lloyd Carr, has not decided to go to Michigan. Instead, he has decided to commit to Notre Dame, a hated rival.
This is a big deal for several reasons. One, Carr is a five-star quarterback from the state of Michigan. He’s the number one quarterback in the state and is the fifth-best quarterback overall in the class of 2024. He’s a really good prospect to bring into your program.
Two, Carr’s entire family loves Michigan. Not only did his grandfather coach the program to their last national title (which was a share of the title by the way), but both of his parents attended TTUN as well. His dad played for his grampa too! And yet, he spurned the program.
TTUN fans have been losing their minds after learning of Carr’s decision last night. They should be. Losing a legacy recruit like this is a huge deal, especially when he’s as good as he is. If you can’t bring in recruits like this, what kind of recruits can you get into your program?
This is excellent news for Ohio State football fans. Anytime a high-profile recruit spurns TTUN, it’s a good day. But to have a legacy recruit do it is even better. It just goes to show that the rest of the Big Ten is still behind Ryan Day when it comes to recruiting.
