Ohio State Football: Gee Scott Jr. helps homeless man
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has built itself on a culture where everyone there is part of a family. That was evident when Harry Miller shared the struggles that he was dealing with. Another Buckeye demonstrated that fact in a different, but still awesome, way too.
Gee Scott Jr., who came into the Ohio State football program as a wide receiver and is now playing tight end, showed off some of his great character. In a video posted on his YouTube page, Scott Jr. bought a homeless man a hotel room and dinner for the night.
It was the first time the man had slept in a bed in two years. It was also the first time in a while that he had been able to take a shower too. Scott Jr. did this out of the goodness of his heart and it was really great to see. It was something that CBS picked up on too.
Ryan Day is clearly teaching his players more than just how to succeed on the football field. He is giving his players a way to give back. He’s leading by example and along with their parents, turning these young players into fine young men as well. This is just one great example.
On the field, Scott Jr. is fighting for extended playing time at tight end now that Jeremy Ruckert is gone. He’s going to need to have a great Summer and early Fall if he wants to be that top right end once September 3rd rolls around.
