Ohio State Football: What Mark Fletcher does for 2023 class
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program got some good news yesterday when the running back Mark Fletcher committed to the program. Fletcher is a four-star running back from the state of Florida. He chose the Buckeyes over TTUN, Miami, and Penn State.
Fletcher is now the seventh member of the 2023 recruiting class. Fletcher stands at 6’1 and 225 pounds. He’s a really big dude for a running back. That makes him very powerful and tough to bring down once he gets a head full of steam through the hole.
The one concerning thing with Fletcher is his ability to stay healthy. He has battled some shoulder issues in high school that are concerning for a player his size. If he can stay healthy though, he can be a really productive back in college if given a decent offensive line.
Fletcher gives the Ohio State football program their running back for the 2023 class, although they might add one more. Even if they don’t Fletcher is a good one to get. He’s the 7th-best running back in the country and has the potential to rise higher in the rankings by the end of summer camp season.
Ohio State has to feel good where they are at recruiting-wise right now. Carnell Tate is a heavy lean towards the Buckeyes, and a new player is projected to be choosing them as well. That prospect is four-star cornerback Kayin Lee from Georgia.
This is the time of year when the Buckeyes can pick up some commitments quickly. They will be hosting a whole slew of recruits this weekend for the Spring Game as well. That opens the door for more recruits to pick Ohio State here soon.
I really like Fletcher’s potential to help this team in a couple of years. He could be the steal of this class.
