The Ohio State football team will have their Spring Game this weekend. It will be a fun day that will allow fans to get their first look at the 2022 version of the Buckeyes. Besides the fun on the field, there will be some important stuff happening off the field too.

There will be a lot of recruits visiting this weekend for the Spring Game. It will be a great time for the Ohio State football program to showcase everything that they have to offer prospects. It will also be a good chance for recruits to feel the type of gameday atmosphere they will feel in the Fall.

The Shoe will likely have at least 80,000+ plus people in it. That’s a lot of people to watch an exhibition game that doesn’t matter. But Ohio State football fans are built different in this part of the country. They love their football and love watching the Buckeyes play it.

As far as getting any commitments this weekend, I don’t think that will happen. The Buckeyes should be getting the commitment of Carnell Tate any day now though. Tate is a five-star receiver that would just add to the immense talent Brian Hartline has amassed in that room.

This weekend will get some more recruits excited about the possibility of playing in Columbus though. It will definitely drive interest in the program for these prospects, whether they are 2023 or 2024 guys. There will be a mix of them on campus this weekend.

I’m sure that Ryan Day and his staff will be ready to make as good of an impression as they possibly can on these kids and their parents. Day is a masterful recruiter and knows what he’s doing. It should be a good weekend for the Buckeyes.
