The Ohio State football program has one of the most demanding fanbases in all of college football. Most of the time, it’s justified. Ohio State is the second-winningest program in all of college football in fact. The Buckeyes have a fanbase that now expects to keep that level of success up.

A lot of fanbases have crazy expectations of their teams. The Buckeyes have a right to be one of those crazy fanbases. That’s especially true this season in this era of Ohio State football. They are consistently one of the best programs in the country.

This year, the fans should once again have high expectations. If the defense improves at all, the team has a real shot to win a national championship. C.J. Stroud and the offense will once again be excellent. Statistically, they were the best offense in the country last season.

Whether or not the Buckeyes hold up those expectations are another matter. The Buckeyes are going to be one of the best teams in the Big Ten Conference yet again. They didn’t win it in 2021 for the first time since 2016. Had they, it would have been their 5th straight championship.

Fans of the Buckeyes expect that to not happen again, especially with TTUN winning the conference instead. Ohio State fans don’t tolerate losing to TTUN in any capacity, especially when the Buckeyes have the more talented team as they did last season.

We’ll see how this year’s team handles the expectations. I have a feeling that they will handle them just fine and once again become a contender.
