Ohio State Football projected to land 5-star receiver
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is now projected as the favorite to land a five-star receiver in the class of 2023.
The Ohio State football team has done an excellent job of recruiting receivers over the past few years. Brian Hartline has done an excellent job doing so in his time as receivers coach. He has grabbed multiple receivers that were the top guys in recruiting classes.
It looks like he might do that again in 2023. Carnell Tate, a five-star receiver from the state of Florida, is now projected to head to Ohio State by 247Sports. Tate is the third-best receiver in the country, but that’s still pretty dang good for a guy who coaches them up as well as Hartline does.
Tate stands at 6’2 185 pounds, so he’s bigger than some of the recent recruits Hartline has brought in. He has really soft hands and can make some tough catches, even some that look like they are outside his catch radius. He really looks like a star in the making.
Tate is choosing between Ohio State and Notre Dame. Something must have happened recently to make some people think that he’s going to choose the Buckeyes, although his recruitment is still very much up in the air. Nothing is a done deal yet.
If the Buckeyes can nab him, he would be an excellent addition to the 2023 class. Tate was listed as one of my prospects to keep an eye on, so it looks like he is someone that could potentially be committing to a program sooner rather than later. Hopefully, it’s Ohio State.
What Hartline has been able to do with these receivers has been remarkable. He should have two more guys drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Maybe that’s what Tate sees. Hartline can develop him into a first-round pick too.
We’ll see what Tate ultimately decides to do and we’ll keep you posted on his final decision.
