The Ohio State football team has turned its attention to recruiting the 2023 class. With it being the offseason right now, coaches have more time to identify prospects and recruit for future classes. Coaches can take more recruiting trips as well.

Ryan Day signed a pretty good 2022 class. He is looking for an even better 2023 class. Right now, that class isn’t very full. In fact, it only holds 5 commits right now. They have a lot of work to do, as do most of the other programs in the country when it comes to filling out their classes.

The Buckeyes have their eyes on a lot of different prospects in a lot of different parts of the country. I’m going to focus on three of them today. These are guys that are not necessarily leaning towards Ohio State yet but are targets the Buckeyes are trying to get.

All of these prospects are five-star recruits as well. Most of the recruits Ohio State targets are of elite-level anyway. All of these prospects would really help the Buckeyes in future seasons. Maybe even one of these guys could help out right away when they step on campus.

Even though the Buckeyes only have the 7th-best recruiting class in the country right now, there is still a lot of work that will be done. Most of these kids haven’t taken official visits yet. That will come in the Fall when the Buckeyes are able to showcase the Shoe to these kids.

The first player on this list is a five-star recruit that would be a big help on the defensive side of the ball.
