Ohio State Football: Eli Apple gets clowned on Twitter
By Ryan Stano
Former Ohio State football player Eli Apple had a rough Super Bowl. He allowed the game-winning touchdown with 1:25 left in the game. Apple had been talking a lot of trash on the field and on Twitter. Other NFL players were pleased to see Apple fail on the game’s biggest stage.
A few Chiefs players were especially gleeful to watch the former Buckeye fall on his face when the moment was the biggest.
Hardman was one of the wide receivers that had a bad second half in the AFC Championship that sent the Bengals to the Super Bowl. He seemed like he just had some sour grapes that Apple beat him to get to the Super Bowl in the first place. Another Chiefs player had something to say too.
Tyreek Hill was also very pleased that Apple got beaten on that final touchdown. Kansas City players in general were happy to watch the Rams win the game. Perhaps the most surprising tweet came from another former Ohio State football player that was his teammate when they won the national championship and in the NFL.
It’s very surprising to me that even a former Buckeye came out to clown on Apple. I know he isn’t the most liked player in the league, and some of that hate is deserved, but I didn’t expect to see a former teammate go after him. Apple even played with Thomas in New Orleans.
Five Buckeyes fell short of winning their ring. There should be a lot of other Buckeyes that have a chance to win a ring really soon because of how many of them there are in the league every year.
