10 Ohio State football commits are Army All-Americans

One of the best annual traditions in recruiting is the U.S. Army All-American Bowl taking place in San Antonio, Texas every January. This year, the Ohio State football team has 10 commits/signees who are Army All-Americans with several targets playing in the bowl as well.

Future Buckeyes will be all over the field Saturday afternoon: Devin Brown (QB), Caleb Burton (WR), Kaleb Brown (WR), Caden Curry (DE), Kyion Grayes (WR), Tegra Tshabola (OT), Kojo Antwi (WR), Jyaire Brown (CB), George Fitzpatrick (OT), and Carson Hinzman (OG). Plus, the Ohio State targets Earnest Greene (OG), Hero Kanu (DT), and Christen Miller (DT) are Army All-Americans — both Greene and Kanu will announce their commitments during the game.

Unfortunately, some players will be held out with COVID. Kaleb Brown, the four-star receiver from Chicago, will be out after testing positive. In addition, it seems Jyaire Brown, the four-star corner from West Chester, OH, will be out as well due to COVID.

Still, eight OSU commits will be on display during the Army All-American game.

Each future Buckeye will have the chance to shine

The Army All-American Bowl showcases the elite against the elite, with many one-on-one matchups. Taking that into account, every OSU commit has the chance to shine with many matchups with elite talent. The passing game is usually the area to watch. The run game is not very physical in these games, which is of little concern since Ohio State has no running backs or linebackers in the game.

Most of all, quarterback play is the most revealing in the Army All-American game. Two years ago, C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young made memorable plays throughout their Army All-American game. Now, both are two of the best QBs in America.

The Buckeye signee Devin Brown will be given the same chance to star. Throughout practice this week, Brown has been one of the standouts regardless of position. Brown’s arm strength has been on full display leading up to the bowl game.

The West squad is loaded with Buckeyes with Brown throwing to Burton and Grayes, two future Buckeyes receivers. Plus, Fitzpatrick, Hinzman, Curry, and the OSU target Kanu will be on the West.  Antwi (WR) will be on the East team with Tshabola, the offensive tackle.

For Ohio State football fans, there will be plenty to watch in this year’s Army All-American Bowl. With monster performances, this can impact recruiting rankings in a big way. So far, the QB commit Brown seems on track to move up, especially if he plays well on Saturday.
