Ohio State Football: Most underrated recruit in 2022 class
By Ryan Stano
Most of the Ohio State football program’s 2022 recruiting class has been signed. They have a lot of great players coming into the class. It’s a class that is good enough for the fourth-best in the country. They have plenty of playmakers who will impact the team right away.
Of these recruits, who is the most underrated prospect from this 2022 class? There are plenty of candidates for that title. I’m going to go with Caden Curry though. Curry is a four-star defensive lineman from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana.
The Buckeyes really like versatile defensive linemen, and Curry is certainly that. He can play either inside or outside on the line, although he will most likely play on the interior with how good the defensive ends look on the team right now. Inside is where Curry can make more of an impact.
Curry is currently listed as the 88th best recruit in the country. That seems pretty low for a guy that can develop into a first-round pick with some good college coaching. While that might be projecting too highly, I really like this kid and think that’s a real possibility.
Curry should get the coaching that he needs to maximize his potential as a player up front. While he probably won’t impact the team as a freshman too much, he will after that. He’s just too talented and has too good of physical skills to sit on the bench for too long.
Obviously, we still have four years to find out whether or not Curry can live up to, or exceed, his four-star status. He has a long road ahead, as do all of the 2022 recruits. One thing that they all have in common is that they should make the Ohio State football program better.
