Ohio State Football: Caden Curry commits to Buckeyes
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is gearing up for the early signing period tomorrow. They were expecting about 18 recruits to sign their letters of intent while fighting for a few other recruits. Now, they can expect 19 of them to sign with their program.
That’s because four-star defensive lineman Caden Curry has officially committed to Ohio State. Curry is from Indiana and was someone I was watching heading into tomorrow. He was projected to sign with the Buckeyes, and that projection has come true.
Curry gives the Buckeyes some versatility on the defensive line. He can play either defensive end or defensive tackle, depending on how much weight he puts on his frame. He has a good first step and can get off the snap quickly. When he does, he does a good job of using his body to get through the line.
Curry is someone that can help the Buckeyes down the road with their defensive line rotation. He isn’t someone who is going to play right away, but someone that can help fill out a rotation in a couple of years. He has the potential to be really, really good though.
In fact, Curry has the potential to be the most underrated recruit in this entire class. He just has to get a bit stronger and get some college-level coaching to be truly elite. He should get both of those things with the Ohio State football program, and that’s why he’s signing there.
This is just the first of many dominos to fall tomorrow. We will keep you up to date all day on the action that is happening. Expect a few other recruits to sign that are still deciding between the Buckeyes and another program. Ryan Day has been very busy the last couple of weeks.
