Recruiting is what has made the Ohio State football program so successful over the last few years. If they want to keep being successful, they are going to need to keep recruiting well. The early signing period is almost upon us. How are the Buckeyes doing in recruiting for 2022?

According to 247Sports, the Buckeyes have the fourth-best recruiting class in the country for 2022. It looks like that’s where they will stay too because they have a significant gap over Notre Dame for five and are significantly behind Texas A&M for three.

The Buckeyes only have 18 commitments for this class, but their average star rating is high. They currently have two five-star recruits for this class. They have C.J. Hicks, who is the second-best linebacker in the country, and they have Sonny Styles, who just reclassified to 2022 and is the best safety in the country.

After that, it’s all four stars except for two other prospects. You can see that the Buckeyes have a pretty potent class coming in. Even so, they still are looking to add members to this class. They have some other top-ranked prospects who could join the Buckeyes.

One of those prospects is Omari Abor. He is a four-star edge rusher from Texas that looks like he could end up in Columbus. Right now, it’s between the Buckeyes and Oklahoma for his services. It looks like Ohio State is the leader in the clubhouse for him.

The Buckeyes are also likely to land Caden Curry from Greenwood Indiana. He plays at Center Grove High School and is a four-star defensive lineman. He is all but locked into Ohio State as a commit and should join the class soon enough.

We will keep you up to date on all of the Signing Day commits and festivities once they happen. The Ohio State football program will once again have a great class coming in.
