The Ohio State football team may be reeling off their first loss to TTUN in ten years, but there are things they can do to correct their mistakes. They can make some changes to the staff. They can come next season more prepared. Perhaps the best thing they can do is continue to recruit their butts off.

That is seemingly what Ryan Day and his staff have decided to do. Just a few days after de-committing to USC, Ohio State was able to lock down four-star quarterback Devin Brown. Brown is the fifth-best quarterback in the class and the number one QB in the state of Utah.

The Buckeyes were without a quarterback in this class after Quinn Ewers decided to reclassify and join the program this year. Now by adding Brown to the mix, they get some quarterback insurance in case Ewers decides to go elsewhere to pursue more playing time.

Brown is 6’3 but only 189 pounds. He’ll need to fill out his frame a bit before he steps out on the field against big-time college football programs. That’s nothing a little time in a college strength and conditioning program won’t fix though.

As far as his skills go, he has a really strong arm. He’s not the fastest guy in the world but will move if needed. He might need to work a little bit on his touch though. Either way, this guy has a ton of potential and should fit right in with Jack Miller leaving.

Ideally, C.J. Stroud would be the starter for one more year before jumping to the NFL. Then it would be Ewers’ turn to start for a couple of years. After that, Brown could get a shot. There’s a lot of things that can still happen between now and next season though.

Next. Does OSU still have a shot at the CFP?. dark

No matter the case, it’s never bad accumulating talent. That’s exactly what the Ohio State football program likes to do.
