Ohio State Football: Three players who could transfer before 2022
By Ryan Stano
Marcus Crowley never got to show what he could do this season. He got hurt and missed the rest of the season with that injury. It was a shame for a running back who was trying to make noise in a room that was very unsettled to start the season.
Now that we know who the bulk of the carries are going to, Crowley is very low on that totem pole. He’s behind TreVeyon Henderson, Miyan Williams, and Evan Pryor. At best, he’s fourth on the depth chart once next season starts. That’s pretty low.
Crowley has shown flashes of good things when he’s gotten on the field. The problem is that every single one of the guys I mentioned above is better. They just have more talent than Crowley does. It’s hard to get enough carries to go around. All of those guys deserve the majority of the carries.
I’d be surprised if Crowley didn’t take a look at what could be out there in the transfer portal. He is just someone that needs a change of scenery if he wants to get playing time. He’s not a very important player in this Ohio State offense right now.
Crowley could decide to stay if he decides that being a part of a winning program is more important than playing time. If he does, then more power to him. I would think that transferring would be the best thing for him.
All of these guys could leave. I’d be surprised if Banks didn’t leave quite frankly, but I could see both Ewers and Crowley staying.
