Ohio State football Comeback Player of the Year

C.J. Stroud wins this award and it’s not particularly close. Stroud has looked like a completely different player since sitting out the Akron game. He has thrown for 736 yards, 10 touchdowns, and has completed 73% of his passes in the past two games.

A lot of people, including me, were calling for Kyle McCord to be the new starting quarterback. I was wrong about that. It seems that Stroud just needed a little time to get his shoulder healed up so that he could make throws down the field once again.

Stroud has been the driving force behind an offense that leads the country in yards per game. If he plays as he has been over the last couple of weeks, this offense is completely unstoppable. He’s making throws all over the field and letting his guys do the rest.

We will really find out how much Stroud has improved after the bye week. Penn State comes to town on Halloween weekend and it will be really interesting to see how he plays against a good defense. That will be the measuring stick after a poor performance against Oregon.

The bye week will further help him improve the health of his shoulder and should make him even better when the meat of the schedule hits. Him playing like this makes the Buckeyes true national title contenders.

The final award we have to give out is simple; team MVP.
